TIGER TREE HISTORY
The Broken Arrow, Oklahoma Tiger Tree, a Michigan Ash, was planted in 1946 by H.K. Ragsdale, then head football coach at BAHS. It was located just south of the south goal post at Kirkland Field. It was planted to block the field goal attempts from going into the Braden Industries property.
The Tiger Tree was unfortunately damaged by an ice storm and disease and needed to be removed for the new sports complex under construction. The wood to create this product was saved by Jim Ragsdale, son of H.K. Ragsdale, so people could have a piece of history.
The Tiger Tree was cut down and its trunk was carved into a beautiful tiger.
